Run Off-the-Grid
Run Off-the-Grid takes place at 574 Snake Creek Road, Mattawan, ON, Canada. The course is 100% trail with no roads or pavement and is based on a 12.5 km loop that passes through single track, old forest logging roads, rolling hills, steep climbs, rocky technical sections, creek crossings, a mud bog and a gravel pit with a sandy dune descent. Each loop is run in the opposite direction for consecutive laps.
Distances offered include:
- 50 km 4 x 12.5 km loops
- 25 km 2 x 12.5 km loops
- 12.5 km single loop
- 50 km relay team of 4, each running one 12.5 km loop
A hike option is available for the 12.5 km and 25 km distances. Post-race food is prepared by gd2go catering and includes a choice of harvest chicken stew or curried lentil soup, fresh buns, pasta salad and a leafy green salad; vegan and gluten-free options are available. In line with sustainability practices, participants are asked to bring their own dishes and cutlery as no disposable options will be provided. Additional meal tickets can be purchased during registration.
On-site accommodations at Nature's Harmony include log cabins, yurts, geodesic domes and glamping options. Camping is available for campers and trailers with compost toilets, eco-showers, a hot sauna, group fire pit areas, swimming in the Bay and a play area for children. Camping fee is CA$20 per person per night and children of race participants are free.
Charitable and community support for the event includes a CA$5 donation from each registration to the local Mattawa Food Bank, a shoe collection for Soles4Souls, and reinvestment of remaining proceeds into Nature's Harmony Ecolodge. Transfers of bibs or race category changes are permitted until September 23, 2026. Refunds and deferrals are available only through the Race Roster refund program.
