Run for the Angels Memorial Run and Family Day
Run for the Angels is the 15th annual memorial fun run and family day held at Riverstone Park in Coeur d'Alene, ID. The event honors and remembers babies and children who died suddenly and unexpectedly and raises awareness of pregnancy, infant, and child death. Proceeds support the emotional support programs of the Northwest Infant Survival & SIDS Alliance, also known as Safe Start.
The program includes sponsor booths, a memory making station where participants can create luminaries, paint memory rocks, or design buttons, and an in-person silent auction with proceeds benefiting NISSA. A remembrance ceremony will be held at the amphitheater near the pond, during which names of honored children will be read aloud. Over 130 memorial signs line the route to acknowledge the children being remembered.
A scenic course along the Centennial Trail runs near the Spokane River and is approximately 2.5 miles. Participants may walk or run at their own pace; strollers and bicycles are welcome. Packet pick-up and shirt distribution occur at the park on the day of the event. The event is scheduled to take place rain or shine; if hazardous conditions force a cancellation, registration fees will be considered a donation to NISSA and arrangements will be made for shirt and bag pick-up. No refunds will be issued. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
