Run for Good News 5K Run/Walk and Salute to the Military
This event on November 14, 2026 is a charity 5K run/walk held in Greenwood, South Carolina at 2026 Woodlawn Rd. It benefits the ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship Lakelands District and its Good News Clubs. The course is an off-road route through the woods around Greenwood Christian School.
The event includes a formal salute to military members in conjunction with the 250th birthday of America and features live performances. A trophy will be awarded to the branch of the military with the quickest 5K time. Top finishers in each age category receive a medal.
Prize awards include $200 for the overall first place male and female. Winners under 18 receive the equivalent of $200 in merchandise to maintain NCAA standards. The top male and female in the over 50 category receive a $100 prize. Registration has an entry fee of $30 and opens on July 8, 2026 and closes on November 2, 2026.
