Rueter-Hess Trail Run
The Rueter-Hess Trail Run in Parker, CO offers a trail event with a Kids 1 mile and a 10 km course. The 10 km uses a Dipsea-style staggered start by age and gender; the kids mile uses the same start area but does not use staggered starts. The first runner across the finish line is the winner.
The course begins with an incline near the start, followed by rolling hills over smooth to moderately technical terrain. The main incline includes consistent steps spaced about 1.5 strides apart. The 10 km route includes a loop section run counter-clockwise for 2026, with aid station access near 1.9 miles and again at 4.3 miles. The return follows the outward route, includes a steep but smooth downhill without stairs, and finishes after a left turn and roughly 200 meters of sprint to the line.
Event details note awards to the top-10 finishers, fastest female and male, and additional awards. Volunteer positions are available; volunteers may also race for free. 2026 participant swag included items such as a head or neck gaiter and running socks. The 2024 edition was cancelled due to trail conditions. Results are posted for prior years including 2022 through 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
