Royal Raid 2027
The Royal Raid is a trail-running event around Bel Ombre and the south-west of Mauritius, organised by Outdoor Moris Xperience with timing provided by Sport Events Mauritius. Courses start at different locations and all finish at Tamassa Resort. The race routes cross private reserves, tropical forest and coastal landscapes including Yemen, Black River Gorges National Park, Plaine Champagne and the Bel Ombre (Watook) Trail.
The event offers multiple distances:
- RR 6 km starting and finishing at Tamassa, family-friendly, minimum age 6 years
- RR 12 km starting and finishing at Tamassa, minimum age 14 years
- RR 35 km starting at Jet Ranch, finishing at Tamassa, minimum age 18 years
- RR 80 km starting in Yemen, finishing at Tamassa, minimum age 18 years
- No Race option for purchasing a Royal Raid T-shirt
Courses include steep climbs, technical forest sections, fast-running parts and long descents such as the Parakeet Trail ascent to Plaine Champagne. The organisers will provide route maps, elevation profiles and mandatory equipment lists separately. Aid stations, refreshment points, race timing, finisher medals and official results are included in entries. There are no refunds after payment; bib transfers follow an official process during race-pack collection. Prize giving for results and categories will take place at Tamassa on event day.
