About the race
Ronda Ghibellina is a two day trail event on 30 and 31 January 2027 in Castiglion Fiorentino, Val di Chio, Tuscany, Italy. The routes run along the local crests and pass through medieval villages, terraces of olive and vine, ruins and historic paved surfaces.
The program includes multiple trail distances and related activities:
- 70 km Ronda Ghibellina PLUS
- 45 km Ronda Ghibellina
- 25 km Ronda Assassina
- 14 km Ronda Minima
Other scheduled activities combine trekking and walking events, for example the Marcia Ardita and the Marcia dello Sparviero, and a youth loop called Anello Ghibellino that features natural and artificial obstacles and orientation challenges. There is also a Dog Trail open to all dogs where the handler adapts to the dog’s pace.
Support on the route is provided by organized safety and aid groups. The event includes a photographic contest called Scatti Ghibellini curated by a local photo club and a public gallery of images from past editions. The descriptions of the terrain emphasize crest trails, oak pine and chestnut woods, old stone walls and votive shrines along the way. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
