Romeriksåsen på langs : RPL50
Romeriksåsen på langs is a forest trail race organized by Romerike Ultraløperklubb over a distance of 50 km. The course runs through marked trails in Romeriksåsen and passes many lakes and well known local points such as Brovoll, Snellingen, Råbjørnhytta, Råsjøen, Hakkim and Veståsen. The route is as close to 50 km as possible and includes about 36 km on blue-marked singletrack.
The terrain is varied forest trail with technical singletrack, boggy sections and changing footing depending on recent weather. Total climb is approximately 1000 meters and total descent about 1250 meters; highest point is about 573 m above sea level and lowest about 197 m. The course is clearly marked with yellow signs showing black arrows, marker tape and occasional spray stripes so navigation with map or GPS is not required.
Field size is limited to 400 participants. Time limits include a generous overall maximum time of 12 hours and cutoffs for the two staffed aid stations (approximately at 15 km and 33 km). Classes are in five-year age groups with minimum age 18 years. Finishers receive a large medal; prizes are awarded to the top three in each gender and to class winners. Organizers provide planned bus transport to the start for those who book it; return transport from the finish is not provided.
