2027 Romancing the Island Half Marathon & 10K
The event is scheduled for April 10, 2027, at Angel Island State Park near Tiburon, California. The course is a hilly loop that circumnavigates Angel Island and offers panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, Alcatraz Island, the East Bay and Marin County.
Distances offered:
- Half Marathon: two laps of the island loop; medals awarded to all finishers.
- 10K: one lap of the island loop.
- Youth entries are offered for both distances.
The event is limited to 400 participants. The course is marked with orange ribbon at trail crossings and turns. There are no aid stations on the course; aid will be available before the second loop for Half Marathon runners. Runners are advised to carry water. Food and drink will be available at the finish. Half Marathon runners must check in at the aid station before starting the second loop.
Course cut-off time for the event is 3.5 hours; Half Marathon participants must complete the first loop in 1 hour 30 minutes. Hikers and walkers are welcome in the 10K. Bib numbers are mailed beginning two weeks before the event; unreceived bibs can be picked up on race morning. Headphones and other audio devices are not allowed on course because some trails are narrow with steep drop-offs.
Athlete ferry fees are included in registration and athletes must travel to the island via the chartered ferry from the Tiburon ferry dock. Parking in Tiburon is available in pay lots for about $5 to $20 per day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
