Rocky Bay Trail Run
The Rocky Bay Trail Run takes place at Rocky Bay Resorts near Scottburgh and uses coastal terrain that moves quickly from the beach into farmland, sugarcane hills and pockets of coastal forest. Courses start and finish next to the ocean and follow runnable farm roads and flowing singletrack with climbs and ocean views.
Three loop courses are offered:
- 19 km long course with about 412 m elevation and 3 aid stations
- 12 km medium course with about 277 m elevation and 2 aid stations
- 6 km short course with about 140 m elevation and 1 aid station
The long course includes a river split, a 100 m climb over 2 km into the southern hills and high ocean viewpoints before rejoining the medium course for the run to the finish. The medium course features a punchy 3 km climb around the 4 km mark and passes an agricultural dam. The short course is an out-and-back route that follows farm roads through sugarcane and a forest section.
There is no compulsory kit requirement listed and courses are subject to change. Pets are welcome on a leash. Accommodation options at Rocky Bay Resorts include log cabins and a campsite located near the race village. An opening special is available and closes Tuesday, 14 July 2026.
