About the race
The Rock Cobbler Trail Run 2.0 is a fully off road trail event at Rio Bravo Ranch in Bakersfield, CA on November 7, 2026, with related activities the evening before. It is presented as a rugged, route focused event that grew from the Rock Cobbler gravel ride and emphasizes dirt trails and varied terrain.
For 2026 there are three course options:
- Boulder Roughly 26 mi / 41.84K, ~4500 ft vert, two laps
- Cobbler Roughly 13 mi / 21K, ~2300 ft vert, one lap
- Pebbler Roughly 6 mi / 10K, vert TBD, one short loop
Required gear and participant rules reflect the off road nature: good trail shoes and shoe gaiters are required, full sleeve short sleeve or tank shirts must be worn, poles are allowed, and participants must carry their own hydration because the event operates cupless. Fully stocked aid stations provide fluids and fuel after the start. There are no official categories or podiums by tradition, though the first male and female finisher on each route receive a special gift and participants will be professionally timed.
Event amenities and logistics listed for registered participants include packet pickup and Friday evening activities, camping for cars and RVs with a fee, meals and post run food service, swag bags, raffle entry for all runners, and prize awards. Final route details and other updates are shared with registered runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
