Road Kill XC - 5 km cross-country meet
Road Kill XC is a USATF-sanctioned cross-country meet hosted by Trail Racing Over Texas and Hardloop Endurance as part of the HARRA Fall Series. The event is set for September 19, 2026, at Bear Creek Pioneers Park in Houston, Texas. The open race distance is 5 km and the course is wheeled to road race certification standards; the marked loop is exactly 5,000 meters (+1%). The surface is mainly firm grass and spikes are allowed.
The meet includes individual results and team scoring. Classic XC scoring follows a four-score format: teams of four to six members with the top four finishers scoring; lower score wins. A HARRA Club Participation Cup awards one point per finisher to each club plus bonus points for the top ten individual finishers (10 points for first, down to 1 point for tenth).
Division options cover a range of age and club categories, including open, coed, youth (10-17), open men and women, masters and veteran age groups, and 60+ and 70+ divisions. The start/finish area will provide tents with water, Gatorade, and post-race snacks; the event operates as cupless, so participants should bring their own hydration device. Restrooms and porta-potties are available near the venue. Packet pickup and team tent setup occur on race day at the main venue. HARRA clubs must designate at least one volunteer to assist with the meet. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
