About the race
Ridge Runner Coromandel is a trail event held at White Star Station, 2140 Colville Road, Colville, Coromandel. The event takes place entirely on private land with 360 degree coastal views and rugged backcountry terrain.
Courses offered:
- 24 km Trailblazer with 1260 m total elevation gain and loss, highest point 527 m at about 10 km.
- 12 km Adventure with over 500 m of elevation and a reconnect point at the Cookie Run.
On-course support is provided via cupless water stations at 3 km, 6 km, and 9 km, plus the Cookie Run at 5.5 km to go. Participants select aid supplies at registration; options include electrolytes, lollies, and water. The event is cupless so runners must bring a hydration pack or personal cup.
Compulsory gear includes trail shoes, long sleeve thermal top, seam sealed jacket, beanie or buff, fluid storage (24 km only), mobile phone, and a whistle. Footwear must be cleaned before arrival to help prevent Kauri Dieback; checks and cleaning products are available at registration.
Camping at White Star Station is included for one unpowered night with entry; extra nights and supporters incur a fee. After the event there is an on-site after party with live music, bonfire and food options including a complimentary gourmet burger for finishers.
