Richmond Park Half Marathon
The Richmond Park event on 23 August 2026 will be held as a half marathon only. The full marathon originally listed for the date has been reclassified as a half marathon after a request from the Royal Parks to reduce the time spent inside the park. Runners originally entered in the marathon can transfer their entry to a future marathon event at 1m2go : Woldingham on 8/30 or to any marathon in 2027, with dates to be advised at the start of the new year.
The course is a single lap of 13.1 miles that starts and finishes at Sheen Gate. The route follows park paths and sections of the Tamsin Trail, passing Richmond Gate, Dutchess Wood, White Lodge, Spankers Hill Wood, Robin Hood Gate and Broomfield Hill, where water and runners' food are provided. Runners continue through Ladderstile Gate and Dark Hill to the Tamsin Trail crossing at Kingston Gate, then follow the trail along Queens Road to Ham Gate and across the large field beside Ham Gate Pond. The route reaches Petersham Gate and returns along the Tamsin Trail, then follows the Horse Trail and a private road through the park past Lawn Plantation and the White House Lodge back to Sheen Gate to complete the lap.
The event is UK Athletics affiliated. No refunds are offered, though at the race director's discretion entries may be held for a future event when at least five weeks' notice is given. Photos and past race results are available for previous years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
