About the race
The RAK Trail Run offers three measured distances: 5 km, 10 km, and 15 km on natural trails near Wadi Naqab in Ras Al Khaimah at the foothills of the Hajar Mountains. The 10 km and 15 km follow the same initial 5 km route before diverting onto separate loops. The opening 5 km includes fast, flat sections on clear tracks at the start and toward the finish, plus a short technical but easy section through a dry wadi that leads to a U-turn. After the U-turn all distances return along a different route.
Before the finish the 10 km and 15 km routes set off on a second loop that includes dirt offroad and single tracks. The 15 km route features an additional third loop prior to the finish. The routes are described as generally flat, allowing runners to target faster times. The organiser publishes event information and a briefing document for participants.
Race services and inclusions listed for participants are a certificate, medal, refreshments, timing, and a race shirt. The event carries a cash prize pool of AED 7,500 for winners.
