Rainbow Beach Trail Festival

The Rainbow Beach Trail Festival is a trail running event held at Phil Rogers Park, Rainbow Beach on 31st July 2027. The course runs through the Cooloola Coast sand cliffs and along coastline and inland trails, passing lush forests, perched lakes, rising sand dunes and a historic lighthouse. Terrain includes single track, fire roads and beaches.

The festival includes these events:

• Marathon
• Half Marathon
• 11 km

Entry information and restrictions:

• No entries on the day; refunds available until 17th July 2027 with a $30 administration charge.
• No transfers to another person or event.
• Minimum ages: 11 km – 12 years; Half Marathon – 15 years; Marathon – 18 years.
• All finishers receive an event memento.

Course and race operations:

• The course is marked with reflective orange and silver flagging tape and red directional arrows; red crosses mark incorrect routes. The organisers note the course may change due to bush fires, flooding or harvesting.
• Checkpoints 1, 3 and 5 supply water, electrolyte, lollies, fruit and small snacks but no cups; checkpoints 2 and 4 supply minimal water. There are no drop bags.
• The event operates a no cup initiative to reduce checkpoint waste.

Mandatory and recommended gear:

• Mobile phone for emergency use, course map, race bib, water bottle or hydration pack (minimum capacities vary by event), and a compression bandage. Recommended items include sunscreen, insect repellent, bite and sting treatment and a wet weather jacket.

• Support crews are permitted only at the start/finish area; support crews are not allowed on course. Spectators may view runners at the Phil Rogers Park start/finish area.
