Race4Warriors event in Lewes, Delaware
Race4Warriors offers 5K, 10K and half marathon distance events that start and finish at American Legion Post 17 in Lewes. Courses travel through Cape Henlopen State Park and the historic Fort Miles and include hardened surfaces and crushed gravel trail sections. All three races are USATF certified.
Distances:
- 5K: run, race walk, heavy march with 15 lb pack
- 10K: run, race walk, heavy march with 15 lb pack
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles): run, race walk, heavy march with 15 lb pack
Heavy march participants carry a 15 lb pack; for the half marathon that pack is specified as nonperishable foods to be donated to homeless veteran shelters. For some heavy march events bags are weighed at completion and contents are dropped off.
The event program includes competitive races, an educational Middle East historical exhibit, and a celebration with local vendors and live bands. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the event at American Legion Post 17, with an evening session that features a live band and food and beverages; day-of packet pickup is available near the starting line. Pre-registered participants by May 3, 2026 are guaranteed an event t-shirt at check-in. Every participant receives a raffle ticket and race medallion at the finish.
