About the race
Race the Wolf is a mountain trail race held at Schweitzer Mountain Resort in Sandpoint, ID on June 19 to 20, 2027. The event runs over two days and offers multiple course options that start and finish near the clock tower in Schweitzer Village. All athletes must sign the waiver and read the final instructions. Registration opens October 1, 2027.

- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- Trail 5 miler
- Sky Climb
Courses run on well marked routes through subalpine forest and along ridge tops with views extending to Canada and Montana. Surfaces include rocky two track access roads, single track with mixed rocks and smooth dirt, and off trail uphill climbs on a slightly defined route for the Sky Climb. Aid stations and restroom facilities are available on course. Post race lunch and beverages are provided for Marathon and Half Marathon competitors on Sunday; meal and drink passes are included in race packets.
Logistics note that packet pickup and day of registration open near the start area on race weekend. Parking is in the Gateway Lot a short walk to the start. Camping for self contained RVs and trailers is allowed at the Schweitzer fire station parking lot; tent camping is not permitted. The event is held rain or shine and participants are responsible for their wellbeing in changing mountain weather. Wildlife such as moose and black bears may be present. No pets on course.
