Race for Grace - Richland Center
The Greater Richland Area Cancer Elimination Inc. (GRACE) holds the fourth annual Race for GRACE on May 8, 2027, in Richland Center. The event raises funds for cancer support and prevention. All races start and finish on the Richland Center High School track at 1996 US Hwy 14.
Distances offered include:
- 1/4 mile kids run (400 m)
- 1 mile run or walk
- 5K (3.1 miles) run or walk
- 3.5 mile off road trail run or walk
The 3.5 mile trail course is an off road, cross country style route with marked trails, hills, and views of Richland Center. A First Responder Challenge uses the 1 mile race with divisions for firefighters, police, and emergency medical services. First responder teams must include three or more members from the same department, wear required department gear, and finish together. Firefighter teams must wear turnout coat and pants; helmet and air tank are optional. Police teams must wear uniforms, ballistic vests, and duty gear. Each first responder team pays a $100 registration fee. Medals are provided to first responders who are identified before April 17 and participate.
Registration includes a Sport Tek t-shirt if registration is completed before April 23. Packet pickup is available the day before at the Richland Center Community Center, 1050 N. Orange St., or on race morning at the high school track concession stand. Parking is available at the Richland Center High School track.
GRACE distributes funds to local needs: 58% to cancer patients, 25% to cancer research, 10% to the local medical community, 5% to a preventative fund, and 2% to operating costs. Race maps are provided for each course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
