About the race
Race for DFL is a backyard ultra held at Kenty's Farm in Winchendon, MA on November 7, 2026. The event uses a single loop of approximately 4.16667 miles that serves all formats raced that day.
Distances and formats available:
- Backyard Ultra - last runner standing format on the loop
- Fastest lap - single 4.167 mile lap timed for best effort
- 6-hour timed event
- 12-hour timed event
- 24-hour timed event
The loop terrain is a mix of grass (about 10%), single and double-track dirt trail (about 50%), and crushed gravel (about 40%), with roughly 150 feet of climbing per lap. The same 4.16667 mile loop is used for the backyard ultra, fastest lap, and the timed events. A GPX course file will be shared when available.
Logistics note: the course sits in a backyard setting. Parking is set back from the start/finish area by about 100 to 200 yards; an ATV with a trailer and a site wagon are available to help transport gear. Participants may set up small tents or personal crew areas near the start/finish. Aid station provisions will be a varied assortment of leftover race supplies and shared contributions. The first 150 participants receive pompom hats. The backyard ultra is a Bronze Ticket event with qualification implications for higher level backyard ultras.
