Poker Run overview
This event is a variable distance running event held in Fayetteville at Old Town, 80 Quick School Road, on September 27, 2026. Runners complete repeated laps on a closed gravel course and may run for one hour. For each lap completed, a volunteer places a playing card into an envelope for that runner; only participants who complete five laps may take part in the poker portion.
Distances and lap structure:
- 0.5 mile repeated loop on a closed gravel course.
- 2.5 miles minimum required to collect five cards and play poker.
The event is CUPLESS: organizers provide water coolers and participants must bring and fill their own vessel. Packet pickup is available on race day from 12:30 to 1:45. T shirt orders require registration by September 13, 2026.
There are 20 total prizes awarded across categories by gender and two age divisions (under 17 and 18 plus), including most laps, top poker hands, and fastest lap. Registration has a fee of $40. If a participant agrees during registration to raise or donate a minimum of $100 and meets that target, the $40 registration fee is refunded at checkout; if the minimum is not met the refunded amount will be charged to the payment card.
All proceeds benefit a foundation that raises awareness and funding for ovarian cancer research. No dogs or strollers are allowed on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
