Event Overview
The Punch Out Ultra is an 8-hour endurance event held on a private deer ranch in Molino, Florida. Participants can compete as individuals or in teams of four. The course is a 4.2-mile out-and-back loop featuring a variety of terrain including pine needle-covered trails, sandy dirt roads, and grassy sections. The route is wide enough to accommodate vehicles, and runners must remain on the right side of the trail at all times.
Race Format
The competition follows a set time limit of 8 hours. Runners aim to complete as many laps as possible within this window. For teams, each of the four members must complete at least one lap for the team to qualify. Participants receive a hole punch in their bib for every completed lap at the start/finish line. Final laps must be started at least 40 minutes before the 8-hour cutoff.
Categories and Distances
The event includes several participation options:
- 8-Hour Individual
- 8-Hour Team (4 persons)
- Ruck Division (minimum 20 lb pack)
- Kids Race (0.3-mile loop for ages 3-12)
Facilities and Logistics
A full aid station is located at the start/finish line, providing water, snacks, electrolyte mixes, and a light lunch. A water-only station is situated at the turn-around point. This is a cupless event, so participants are required to bring their own bottles or cups. The site features a covered barn, restrooms, and space for pop-up tents. While on-site camping is not permitted on the ranch, public camping areas are located nearby at Cotton Lake and Mystic Springs.
Awards and Recognition
Participants who complete 28 miles (7 laps) or more within the time limit receive a finisher challenge coin. Awards are presented to the first, second, and third-place finishers in the individual, team, and ruck divisions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
