About the race
Psotkov memorial is an annual memorial event held in Štrbské Pleso in the High Tatras. The event remembers Slovak mountaineers who died on Mount Everest during expeditions in the 1980s. It notes a 1984 ascent of the south pillar and a 1988 alpine-style ascent of the Bonington route on the southwest wall; fatalities occurred during descents from the southern areas of the mountain.
