Preston Park 5k & 10k
The event takes place on October 18, 2026, at 415 S. Eberhart Rd., Butler, PA 16001, United States. It is the fifth annual running event sponsored by the Friends of Preston Park Foundation.
Distances offered:
- 5 km trail - registration fee $25
- 10 km trail - registration fee $35; slightly harder course
- 15 km challenge (both races) - registration fee $50; special finisher items
The 10 km course uses some different parts of the park and is described as slightly more difficult than the 5 km. The overall trail course is described as not technical and runnable. Walkers are welcome. Awards are presented after each race. Participants who complete both the 5 km and 10 km (the 15 km challenge) receive special finisher items, which include a finisher medal, a hoagie and a hat.
Registration opens March 16, 2026 and closes October 17, 2026. The last day to order shirts is October 4, 2026. Past participants praised the park's natural beauty and the event has drawn many first time visitors to Preston Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
