Pražský Kelt - Pražský Ultra Trail
Pražský Kelt is a unique 100 km ultra trail race held within the capital city of Prague. The course features a total elevation gain of 2500 m and is designed to showcase the natural landscapes and historical sites of the metropolitan area. Approximately 85 km of the route leads through nature, including forested and hilly terrain, while only 15.5 km passes through urban areas. The surface composition consists of 61% trails and unpaved paths, and 39% asphalt, stone, or concrete.
The route connects several historical Celtic hillforts and green areas, some of which are less known to the general public. Key locations along the course include:
- Hostivař hillfort
- Vyšehrad
- Butovice
- Závist
- Nový Hrádek in Kunratice
Participants also pass through Prokopské údolí and run along the Vltava and Berounka rivers, the Hostivař reservoir, and several local brooks such as Botič and Písnický potok. While the race utilizes some city infrastructure to connect green zones, the route avoids main roads and instead utilizes hidden stairs and walkways.
The event base is located at Základní škola Kunratice. The race has a capacity limit of 120 participants. Refreshment stations along the course serve as control points and offer a variety of food and drinks, including soup, fruit, and specialized runner nutrition. A traditional Celtic goulash, including a vegan option, is provided at the finish. Runners who complete at least the first 30 km to Vyšehrad are eligible for a diploma and medal.
