About the race
The Portmellon Trail is a new trail event that follows coastal paths and woodland around the village of Portmellon and the Wet Bodrugan nature reserve. The route is a 12 km trail with varying terrain and contains technical sections and approximately 350 m of total ascent. An aid station is located at 6 km and will provide food, water, electrolytes and additional supplies.
Prizes are offered for the first three male and female finishers, plus winner prizes in age groups and the Mad Hatter Spot prizes. Because of limited space in Portmellon, participants are asked to car share where possible and use the main Mevagissey car park, which is about a 10 minute walk from the start. Organizers will provide a place to leave kit near the start area. The event description focuses on route characteristics, on-course support at mid distance, prize categories and local parking logistics.
