About the race
The Portland 3 Bays Running Festival is a multi-event running festival held over two days, 31 October and 1 November. The festival includes a mix of coastal trail and road races that use sections of the Great South West Walk and local roads around Portland.
Trail events on 31 October include:
- 60 km trail ultra along mostly single-track with some beach sections.
- 30 km coastal trail run introduced for 2026.
- 102 km Hybrid option combining the 60 km ultra on Saturday with a marathon on Sunday for an additional entry.
Road events on 1 November include:
- 42.2 km marathon with about 300 m of elevation gain.
- 21.1 km half marathon covering roughly the second half of the marathon course with about 100 m of elevation gain.
- 10.5 km quarter marathon, described as flat with less than 40 m of elevation gain.
- Relay races for primary school, secondary school and open 8-person teams; entry fees vary by relay type.
