The event takes place on a course that lies mostly inside the park and offers views of the Bristol Channel and the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. The 2026 edition marks the race's 20th anniversary.
The course is 95% within the park and combines open grassland, woodland paths, trails and tarmac sections. It includes two climbs, several fast flat sections and a few quick descents. Notable course features include a fast first mile with a spectator-friendly loop of The Meadow, a short shoreline section, trails through Viaduct Wood and a loop around Porthkerry Viaduct, a sharp climb from Cwm Barri with running through the Four Fields, and a speedy final mile that descends back through the wooded Cwm Barri before returning along The Meadow.
The 2026 race incorporates the South Wales Regional Trail Championship for eligible runners. Organisers operate a low-cost, no-frills format and have held entry prices at £10 and £12 for 2026. A time limit of 1 hour 15 minutes applies to completing the course. The race is licensed by Welsh Athletics, Licence No. TR-26-24. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
