Popple Shoot Trail Races - May 8, 2027
Popple Shoot Trail Races take place in Minong, Wisconsin, with start and finish at Wild River Campground, 802 Railroad St. The event offers four distances and uses a mix of surfaces including the Wild Rivers Trail (crushed gravel), single lane ATV trails (dirt), and county roads (paved and dirt).
Registration opens November 27, 2026. Online registration closes May 4, 2027. Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the race and on race morning.
Distances
- 87K single large loop plus an additional smaller loop
- 62K single loop course
- 25K out and back course
- 10K mostly single loop with a short out and back
The organizer describes total elevation gain and loss as minor. The 87K and 62K races use a generous 15 hour finish cutoff; the 87K also has a 12 hour cutoff at the Hall Road aid station (second pass, mile 42.3). Aid station support varies by distance: the 87K has eight fully stocked and one water only station; the 62K has six fully stocked and one water only; the 25K has one fully stocked and two water only; the 10K has one water only. Aid stations supply sandwiches, fruit, snacks, electrolyte drink, water and soda. Distances between aid stations range from 2.5 to 7.8 miles.
Awards are given to top male and female finishers across overall and age categories. The race is Trail Sisters approved. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
