About the race
The event offers three distance options on December 12 at Bright Hope Trail in Pocahontas State Park, Chesterfield, VA. Points earned at the event count toward the organizer’s Year‑Long series (5k, 10k, Endurance, Back of the Pack) and the Fall Series.
Distances:
- Half-marathon
- 10k
- 5k
All courses run along the Bright Hope Trail through wooded terrain. The surface is a mix of dirt and pine needles, providing a softer trail footing. There are some minor hills. The 5k and 10k are single out-and-back courses; the half is an out-and-back run completed twice with an initial detour. Water stations are placed along each route: ten on the half, four on the 10k, and two on the 5k; Gatorade is available at selected stations.
Walkers may participate and a virtual race option is offered. Registered finishers receive a finisher’s coin, a technical drifit event shirt (shirts guaranteed for registrations before Dec 2), and chip timing. Awards are given to the top three overall men and women plus age-group awards by standard age brackets; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group prizes. Packet pickup is available at the event and there is on-site race-day registration. Parking is available within the Bright Hope area near the park entrance; GPS pin 37.359645, -77.572968.
