About the race
Phoenix Running Hampshire stages an event called "Whingeathon" along The Itchen Way in Winchester. The course is an out and back route that crosses Hockley Viaduct, has been professionally measured, and holds a Road Permit.
The event uses a lap format with a single lap distance of 2.62 miles. Participants may complete as many laps as they wish within the overall seven hour time limit; five laps equal a half marathon, ten laps equal a marathon, and eleven or more laps count as an ultra. All finishers receive a bespoke finisher's medal. An aid station on course offers sweet and savoury items, a signature potato offering, and multiple vegan options.

The event is based at Garnier Road Car Park in Winchester with additional parking a short walk away at St. Catherine's Park & Ride (postcode SO23 9NP). Parking charges apply on Saturdays and can be paid via Ringo or contactless. The organiser notes that places will be strictly limited. UK Athletics age restrictions apply for participants aged 20 or under. In-person and virtual entrants receive a physical memento for their run.
