PFW Running - Avenham Amble
PFW Running - Avenham Amble is a multi-distance running event held in the parklands of central Preston with start and finish at Avenham Park beside the River Ribble. The route passes through Miller Park and crosses into Upper Farm nature reserve and leisure park before returning to Avenham Park. The course is on hard surface paths and is described as undulating.
Distances offered include:
- 10K: one loop plus a short out and back
- Half marathon: three loops of the course
- Marathon: six loops of the course
- Ultra: as many laps as wished within a six hour limit
Lap and time details: the ultra must be completed within a six hour time limit and the final lap must be started within 5 hours 15 minutes. The field is limited to 100 entrants. The event is part of a three day series where participants can enter one, two or all three days. Entries close 07/05/2027.
On the day the organisers provide sweet and savoury snacks, water, cordial and coke, a bespoke medal and post run goodies. The route will be fully marked and medical cover is provided. The event is held under UKA rules and a Trail Running Association race permit number is to be announced. Refunds are not permitted; transfers or deferrals are allowed up to one week before the event.
