Pen Park Trails Fest
Pen Park Trails Fest is a trail running event held in Peninsula State Park, Fish Creek, Wisconsin. The event starts and finishes at Welcker's Point Shelter and provides on-course support and nutrition for participants.
Distances
- 30K
- 14K
Runners receive a race hoodie, a completion medal, and a post-race beer from Sway Brewing and Blending or a nonalcoholic beverage. Food and beverages are available at the finish area.
Course overview
The 30K uses a two-mile gravel segment followed by the park's single-track and multi-use trail system. The route climbs and descends the Niagara escarpment multiple times and visits Sven's and Eagle bluffs before returning to Welcker's Point Shelter.
The 14K follows the same gravel approach as the 30K and then takes shorter single-track sections with a couple of notable climbs. It separates from the 30K at about mile 5 and also climbs Sven's bluff, featuring several longer descents relative to the park's topography. The 14K finishes at Welcker's Point Shelter where food and beverages await.
Time limits and charity
Both distances have a six-hour time limit. The 30K includes a strictly enforced cutoff at the Eagle Panorama Aid Station (mile 14.2). Proceeds will support the Friends of Peninsula State Park for trail development and maintenance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
