PENUM Half - Penfro Ultra Marathon Half
The PENUM Half is a coastal running event on 7 August 2027 that follows the Arfordir Penfro coastal path in the Pembroke Coast National Park to Tenby. The route starts in Stackpole and finishes in Tenby, passing clifftop paths, sandy stretches and seaside viewpoints.
Most of the course is on natural terrain: about 90% trail and 10% road, with a total elevation gain of 2,149 ft. A local point of interest on the route is St Govan’s Head, where a small chapel is set into the limestone headland and reached by roughly 50 steps.
The event provides checkpoints along the route, listed as two fully stocked aid stations and a midpoint water stop, with access to drop bags at the midpoint. Entries include no cut off times, a finisher’s medal, pre- and post-race care, a detailed race manual, and professional medical cover. Volunteer support is provided by The Teulu, the Pegasus and Stable Adventures volunteer family.
Participants must carry mandatory kit items, including trail running shoes or hiking boots, a waterproof jacket, a minimum 1-litre water bottle, a charged mobile phone, a downloaded GPX route for navigation, a head torch, a survival bag, a reusable cup, and a backpack or race vest. The organiser supplies route files via Plotaroute for download without charge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
