About the race
Peaks & Trails is a trail running event held in Dunkeld in the southern Grampians (Gariwerd). The event uses sections of the Grampians Peaks Trail and nearby private trails, and courses traverse river flats, open woodland, rocky singletrack, 4WD track, sand and tree roots. The event is run by local volunteers and acknowledges the cultural connection of Traditional Owners to these lands.
Multiple race distances are offered:
- 6.4 km Trail Run out-and-back on gravel, grass and river flats.
- 13.5 km Gen Health Hamilton with 464 m elevation gain and summit of Wurgarri.
- 20 km Trail Run with 741 m elevation gain and mixed private and Peaks Trail sections.
- 33 km Pro Feet Footwear featuring 1,080 m elevation gain and summits including Bainggug and Mud-Dadjug.
- 50 km AGL event summiting Wurgarri, Bainggug, Mud-Dadjug and Signal Peak with 2,057 m elevation gain.
