About the race
The Patapsco Valley 50K event in 2026 includes in-person and virtual trail races held in Patapsco Valley State Park with race headquarters at CCBC Catonsville. This year marks the 13th running of the Patapsco Valley 50k and the 5th running of the Patapsco Valley 25k.

All participants receive a Brooks event shirt and an additional PV50K/25K logo premium item. The course is described as scenic and historic and will be run clockwise in 2026. The in-person course is well marked and supported by five aid stations staffed by volunteers. Post-race food and drink are provided at the finish area. Finishers awards differ by distance: 50k finishers receive a hand-thrown mug and 25k finishers receive a finishers medal.
Virtual runners may complete their chosen distance on their own course between October 24 and November 24, 2026, and submit results via the event registration platform. Virtual runners receive the same shirt, finishers award, and swag mailed at no additional cost.
The in-person start and finish use the multi-use fields near the back of the CCBC Catonsville campus adjacent to the tennis courts, with parking recommended in Lot 6. Patapsco Valley State Park retains authority over the event permit. The event has a weather backup date of October 25, 2026. Runners unable to attend the backup date or if the event is canceled will be moved to the virtual category. Refunds requested before September 24, 2026 are returned minus a $30 fee; requests on or after September 24 are not refunded. Registration closes October 22, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET.
