Patapsco Valley 50K

The Patapsco Valley 50K returns for its 13th year, alongside the 5th annual 25K distance. Based in Baltimore, Maryland, the event utilizes the trail systems of Patapsco Valley State Park. For the 2026 edition, participants will navigate the course in a clockwise direction. The race headquarters and the start and finish lines are located at the CCBC-Catonsville campus, specifically in the multi-use fields near the tennis courts.

The event offers several participation options:

  • 50k
  • 25k
  • 50k Virtual
  • 25k Virtual

The course is scenic and historic, featuring well-marked trails and five aid stations staffed by volunteers. Runners in the 50k category must complete their first loop by 12:15 PM to continue the race. Those who finish after the ten-hour limit at 5:30 PM are recorded as unofficial finishers.

All participants receive a technical event shirt and an additional premium item, such as a knit hat or socks. Finishers of the 50k receive a hand-thrown mug, while 25k finishers receive a medal. Post-race food and drinks are provided on-site. Virtual participants can complete their chosen distance on any course between October 24 and November 24, 2026, and will receive their race materials by mail.

In the event of extreme weather, the park may postpone the race to a backup date of October 25, 2026. If the in-person event cannot proceed, participants are moved to the virtual category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
