OUTLAST WACO
OUTLAST is a six hour trail endurance challenge in Waco where runners complete a 5K loop every hour on the hour. Each lap must be finished within the hour to stay in the event; participants who miss a lap are removed. If a runner finishes early, they rest until the next start.
Courses are trail based with natural terrain, including dirt, rocks, roots, and elevation changes. Some sections may include pavement or gravel. Aid at the basecamp/loop start provides water, basic hydration, and snacks. This is a cupless event, so participants are expected to carry their own bottle or hydration system. Tent or personal aid station setups are allowed at the venue.
Recognition is awarded by laps completed: four laps earn a “Grit Earned” patch, five laps earn a “Survivor” patch, and completing all six earns a premium OUTLAST 6 inch medal. All participants receive a premium OUTLAST tee. Local winners are the top male and female with the fastest combined 5K times at the event.
Finishers are ranked on a world leaderboard. The fastest runner across all OUTLAST six hour events is crowned World Champion and receives a $1,000 prize. The top five male and female six hour champions from each city earn a spot at the Outlast World Championship in DFW on December 4, 2027, where championship prizes for first through third place are $1,200, $800, and $500 respectively.
