About the race
Outlast Indianapolis is a trail endurance event held on October 17, 2026, at 3989 S 525 E, Columbus, IN 47203. The format requires participants to complete a 5K loop every hour, on the hour. Each lap must be finished within the hour to continue; finishing early allows rest until the next start, and missing a lap ends a participant’s day.
Distances offered:
- 6 Hour Challenge, 18 Miles
- Outlast ULTRA 12 Hour Challenge, 36 Miles
Each course is trail based and may include dirt, rocks, roots, elevation, and occasional pavement or gravel. Aid is available at basecamp or the loop start with water, basic hydration, and snacks. The event is cupless; participants should use their own bottle or hydration system. Participants may walk as long as they complete each 5K within the hour. Tent or personal aid station setups are permitted at basecamp.
Recognition and awards are tiered by laps completed: patches for four and five laps, a premium 6-inch medal for six laps, and a premium 12-inch medal for twelve laps. All participants receive a premium OUTLAST T-shirt. Finishers of all six laps receive a combined time for local awards and national leaderboard ranking. The fastest across OUTLAST 6-hour events earns a $1,000 national prize. Local championship placements earn entries to the Outlast Championship and cash prizes.
