Östgöta Ultra Trail

The event is based at Grönebo lägergård by lake Glimmingen outside Kisa, where bib pickup, camping, start and finish are located. Parking and space for tents, caravans and motorhomes are available near the camp.

Distances

  • 165k
  • 110k
  • 55k about 55 km, ca 1 700 m positive elevation
  • 34k about 34 km, ca 1 000 m positive elevation

The courses follow parts of Östgötaleden as well as gravel roads, trails, unmarked terrain and some asphalt. On Östgötaleden runners should follow the trail's orange markings; off the trail the route is marked with orange enduro arrows and flags. Reflectors are used in many places but parts of Östgötaleden may lack reflectors. A GPX file is recommended for navigation and route support.

Aid stations provide water and sports drink as a base. All station products are vegan. On the 55k there are stations at about 11, 24, 30, 38 and 44 km with water and sport drink and some stations offering chips and small sweets. On the 34k there are stations at about 11, 17 and 22 km with similar supplies. At the lap point there is food including warm meals, drinks and broth.

Facilities include temporary toilets, covered changing space and a bathing spot with a jetty near the finish and a sand beach about 1 km from the camp. Runners are asked to take care of their own trash; garbage bags are placed at stations and the finish.

All runners should carry a fluid container of at least 1 liter, emergency energy (two bars or three gels), an elastic bandage and pressure dressing, a headlamp and a phone with the organiser's number saved. Runners on the 110k and 165k should also have a wind or rain jacket, a base layer top, a buff or hat and gloves.

All finishers receive an ÖUT medal. Prizes are awarded to the first man and first woman in each race, and a warm meal is served at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
