Ohio's Backyard Ultra
Ohio's Backyard Ultra is a last person standing running event held at McChesney Ridge Athletic Club in Lucasville, Ohio on March 21, 2026. The event uses a measured loop of 4.1667 miles (6.706 km) that runners repeat each hour until only one runner completes a loop alone and is declared the winner.
Runners must be in the starting corral when the next loop begins; late starts are not permitted. Once a loop begins, runners must remain on course except to use nearby porta‑potties or to relieve themselves off course. Runners provide their own aid. Each runner may have one crew member at a time. A small personal space near the start and finish is available for a chair, cooler, and similar items. Camping is allowed on site for spectators, crew, and DNF runners.
The day course is two loops of 2.08 miles for a full 4.1667 mile circuit, with about 450 to 475 feet of elevation gain and a surface of double‑track trail, gravel, grass, and dirt. The night course is an out and back of the same distance with about 150 feet of elevation gain and includes a paved section.
Field capacity is 115 runners. Entry prices are listed in tiers and registration closes March 18, 2026; a waitlist operates for late openings. Entrants receive a t shirt; the Last Person Standing prize is $500 plus a commemorative item. Refunds follow a graduated schedule based on the time of withdrawal before the event.
