Oakwood24

Oakwood24 is a 24-hour run and walk held annually to raise funds for Healing Transitions. The 2026 event is presented as the ninth edition and takes place on Saturday, November 21, 2026, at Lakeside Retreats, a new venue chosen after seven years at Oakwood Cemetery.

The site offers space for camping, ample parking, family friendly activities, and unpaved running trails. The event is an official timed ultra run and includes distance, time, and relay options to accommodate different participation formats. Organizers also offer options for sponsorships, individual donations, fundraising teams, and volunteer roles.

A remembrance hour is scheduled on the Saturday morning of the event to honor those who have lost their lives to the disease of addiction. Historically, Oakwood24 has raised over $1,000,000 for Healing Transitions to support recovery services.

Funds raised at Oakwood24 are directed to programs serving homeless, uninsured, and underserved people in Wake County who are affected by addiction. The event materials note a range of participation and support methods so that community members can contribute via donations, sponsorship, fundraising teams, or volunteering. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
