Oakwood24

Oakwood24 is an annual 24-hour run and walk that raises funds for Healing Transitions. The 9th edition takes place on Saturday, November 21, and supports homeless, uninsured, and underserved people in Wake County who are struggling with addiction.

After seven years at Oakwood Cemetery, the event moved to Lakeside Retreats. The new location offers camping space, ample parking, family-friendly activities, and unpaved running trails. The course and venue are intended to accommodate longer-distance runners as well as teams.

Oakwood24 is an officially timed ultra event and provides multiple participation formats, including individual distance options, time-based entries, and relay teams. The event includes a Saturday morning Remembrance Hour to honor people who have lost their lives to the disease of addiction.

Fundraising is a core part of the event. To date, Oakwood24 has raised more than $1,000,000 for Healing Transitions. Donations, sponsorships, fundraising teams, and volunteer involvement are all included in the event structure, and proceeds are directed to services for people in recovery in the local community. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
