Oak Valley Xtreme
Oak Valley Xtreme is a trail running event held at Oak Valley Estate in the Elgin Valley. The course uses trails that are normally reserved for mountain bikes and features flowing single track, sustained climbs, and views of the Groenland mountains.
Routes offered:
- 15 km
- 25 km
- 55 km
The event includes exclusive access to estate trails, a sustainable commemorative finisher's medal, and a bottle of Oak Valley wine. Discovery Vitality awards points for completion: 600 points for 15 km, 1500 points for 25 km, and 3000 points for 55 km.
Support for trail conservation is part of the event through the Protect Our Path Foundation and event partners who emphasise sustainability. Vendors such as a coffee provider and a breakfast food vendor will be on site. Parking is available behind the estate's main building and marshals will direct vehicles.
Mandatory safety and equipment requirements vary by distance. For the longest route participants must carry items including hydration, nutrition, a charged phone in a waterproof bag, a waterproof jacket, thermal layer, buff, space blanket and whistle. Shorter routes also require hydration, a charged phone in a waterproof bag, a waterproof jacket and a whistle.
Podium presentations and a lucky draw take place after category finishes; prizes must be collected in person at the prize giving. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
