Northumberland Festival of Sport
The Northumberland Festival of Sport takes place at Druridge Bay Country Park, Red Row NE61 5BX, on 12 and 13 June 2027. The programme includes triathlon, aquabike, aquathlon, open water swims and trail running. The Standard Distance Triathlon at the festival has been designated as the English Standard Distance Triathlon championship event and as a British Triathlon Age Group qualifier for the 2027 European Standard Distance Triathlon Championships in Kitzbühel. Registration opens November 2026.
The swim takes place in the shallow freshwater Ladyburn Lake within the park. The bike route leaves the country park and follows a coastal road. The run uses multi-lap footpaths through woods and meadows around the lake. Druridge Bay Country Park offers a café, visitors centre, children’s play area, sheltered picnic areas and camping, caravanning and motor home facilities.
Age minimums for 2027 are stated as follows: the 750m and 1.5km open water swims require competitors to be 12 years old on 31 December 2027; the 3km swim requires 13 years old on 31 December 2027. Sprint distance events require a minimum age of 15 years on 31 December 2027 and Standard distance events require a minimum age of 17 years on 31 December 2027.

- Sprint Aquabike: 750m swim, 19km bike

- Standard Aquathlon: 1.5km swim, 10.4km run
- Open water swims: 750m, 1.5km and 3km
- Trail runs: 5K and 10K
