About the race
The Northern Lights Ultra is a 5 day, 290 km multi-stage foot or ski race in Canada’s Northwest Territories. The route follows the frozen Peel River through a remote Arctic region and crosses frozen river systems, open tundra and the edge of the Richardson Mountains.
Stages are run over consecutive days with on-route travel on foot or skis and nightly camping. Nights are spent under skies lit by the Aurora Borealis. Reported temperatures on the route can drop as low as -44°C.
