Nordic Dance Invitational - Montana Winter Cup #3
The event takes place at Lubrecht Experimental Forest in Greenough, MT (38689 MT-200). It is race number three in the Montana Nordic Cup and uses classic technique courses.
Distances offered include:
- 1 km Classic Race, recommended for beginners and kids, free entry
- 4 km Classic Race, registration fee $10
- 10 km Classic Race, registration fee $15
The 1 km course uses three laps on the extended champions loop and includes about a 100 feet hill on each lap. The 4 km course combines the extended champions loop with a punchy, hilly one-lap A loop. The 10 km course uses mostly two laps of the 4 km layout with additional laps on the extended champions loop. All finishes are by the Lubrecht rec shed.
A group dance competition is held near the conclusion of the event and occurs before podiums for all races. Wax recommendations will be emailed the week of the race and free on-site waxing is available. Grooming is provided by Missoula Nordic Ski Club. Parking can be limited; overflow parking is available by the conference center or the Ghost Town on Hwy 200. A post-race chili feed potluck follows the races.
