Night Moves Trail Races
Night Moves takes place Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Stephen F Austin State Park in San Felipe, Texas. The event offers multiple distances and a free kids race, all run on a common loop course based from the group dining hall.
Distances
- 5k: one loop (red then blue)
- 10k: two loops
- Half Marathon: four loops with green add-on on first loop
- Marathon: eight loops with green add-on on first two loops
- Free kids race
The trails are wide and mainly gravel and dirt with a few quick elevation changes. One full aid station is located at the start/finish area and a water refill point is available at the road crossing. The course is marked with reflectors and ribbons; runners must carry their own light and a hydration device because this is a cupless race.
The group dining hall is the event headquarters for packet pickup, timing, the main aid station, a medical treatment area, and a spectator lawn where runners may set up personal support areas. Parking follows park staff instructions along the right side of the park road beginning at the group dining hall. Pacers are not allowed and crew assistance is limited to the start/finish area. Camping and guest park passes follow Texas State Park procedures; registered runners, volunteers, campers, and children under 13 do not require a park pass.
