Natural State Backyard Ultra - High School Ultramarathon National Championship & Open Division
The Natural State Backyard Ultra is scheduled for March 13, 2027, at 1 Soccer Avenue, Parking Lot 3, North Little Rock, Arkansas. All race proceeds go to charity.
The event uses a loop format with each lap measuring 4.167-mile. Each loop must be completed within one hour to be counted. Participants must be in the starting corral and begin each loop at the designated signal; the corral location remains the same throughout the event. Competitors may not leave the course during a loop except to use restrooms. Non-competitors, including eliminated runners, are not allowed on the course, and personal aid while on a loop is not permitted. Artificial aids, including trekking poles, are prohibited. Slower runners are expected to allow faster runners to pass.
Support crews are permitted but may provide assistance only between loops. Food and drink will be provided on site; participants are asked to bring their own cup. Public bathrooms, drinking water, and basic first aid will be available near the starting tent. Space for parking and camping tents is provided on a first come, first serve basis.
Volunteers will staff road crossings and a medic will be present at the starting area. A police officer will be on site after 9:00 pm. Divisions include High School Mens, High School Womens, Open Division Mens, and Open Division Womens. Recognition is given to participants who complete seven laps, and final awards record each runner's total laps. No refunds and no inclement weather policy apply; the director may cancel or delay the event for safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
