Nationaal Park Marathon Hoge Kempen

The Nationaal Park Marathon Hoge Kempen is a multi-day sporting event held in the first national park of Flanders. The event takes place in the province of Limburg, specifically in the Maasmechelen area, and leads participants through an extensive nature reserve of over 12,000 hectares of forests and heathlands.

The program is split across two days, with walking activities scheduled for Saturday and running events held on Sunday. Participants can choose from four different distances to match their preference:

• 7 km
• 14 km
• 21 km
• 42 km

The courses are designed to offer views of the natural surroundings while avoiding city crowds. To ensure a high-quality experience, the number of participants for the full marathon distance is limited. Aid stations providing snacks and drinks are positioned along the routes, with the number of stations increasing according to the distance selected.

Dogs are permitted to accompany participants on the 7 km, 14 km, and 21 km routes for both walking and running. Every finisher receives a commemorative medal. Additionally, a portion of each registration fee is donated to the National Park Fund to support the protection and maintenance of the nature reserve.
