About the race
The Hot Rod Ultra is a timed endurance running event held September 26-27, 2026 at the Bowling Green Hot Rods baseball park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The main event is a 24 hour individual effort that takes place inside the stadium concourse.
Runners complete laps of a 0.31 mile loop around the stadium concourse and may accumulate as many laps as they wish during the event. Short laps allow frequent access to aid and support while the clock runs.
The weekend includes multiple entry options: a 24 hour individual event, a 24 hour relay, a 12 hour individual event, and a 12 hour night event. Published registration fees are $130 for the 24 hour individual, $75 for the 24 hour relay, and $90 for each 12 hour event.
Relay teams consist of four runners. There are no gender requirements; teams may be mixed or single gender. Teams may divide running time as they choose, all relay teams compete together regardless of makeup, and the entire team may complete the final lap together.
Every registered runner receives a Hot Rod Ultra race shirt and a custom finisher medal. Runners who reach 100 miles can earn a Hot Rod Ultra belt buckle. A top individual awards plaque is presented based on total laps in the 24 hour, 24 hour relay, and 12 hour events.
A fully stocked aid station is available to registered runners for the full 24 hours with food items and drinks including fruit, burgers, ramen, pancakes, donuts, pizza, chips, pickles, trail mix, candy, electrolytes, water, soda, Gatorade, and coffee.
