Mudslinger Trail Run : Blodgett, Oregon
The Mudslinger Trail Run is a half marathon trail race held in Blodgett, Oregon as part of the Mudslinger Festival. The course runs on trails in the Tum Tum unit of Starker Forests and may be muddy depending on weather; some sections are steep and trail running shoes are recommended.
Packet pickup is at Blodgett School, 35177 Tum Tum RD. Registration is limited to 100 runners. Early registration fee is $75 and the later fee is $80. Each entry includes custom runner socks.
The event offers age-group awards for Men and Women in the following ranges: U19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Finishers and top age-group athletes receive custom Mudslinger Trail Run coffee mugs.
Trail markings include pink arrows, orange and red striped ribbons on turns, and yellow X no signs to mark wrong directions. Aid stations include menstrual products and the event follows Trail Sisters policies such as equal podiums and women specific apparel options.
The trail run can be combined with the Mudslinger XC mountain bike race for the Ultimate Mudslinger competition. Competitors can enter solo or as teams; solo scoring separates Men and Women under 50 and 50 and over, and a fastest team category pairs one runner with one mountain biker. Completion of the trail run within the specified time threshold qualifies a participant for combined scoring in the Ultimate Mudslinger categories.
