Mudmania Mud-Run at Waipu Caves Farm Park
Mudmania is one event in a Run & Walk series held at Waipu Caves Farm Park, a 320 acre private conservation and recreation park. The park terrain includes farm roads, forest trails, grass paddocks, hills, valley flats, river crossings and muddy ponds. Each event in the series uses a different mix of these surfaces to fit its theme.
Mudmania is a purpose built short course of about 1.5 km with multiple obstacles. Course features include mud ponds, water ponds, slippery slides and slopes, log obstacles, nets and commando crawls. The course is lapped so participants may complete multiple laps under a single ticket. The layout is spectator friendly and spectators must hold a ticket.
Children aged 5 to 12 must participate with a parent or adult. Participant and spectator numbers are limited to 300 per session. Parking is available in multiple areas; the walk from parking to the Mudmania course is about 400 m to 750 m. There are food carts on site and water drums and fire drums provided for washing and warming.
The run and walk series is planned to run monthly from May to October each year. Other events in the series include a Colour & Costume Run Walk and a Hill Climb Challenge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
